I heard they said it because they thought that evil spirits would enter your body when you sneezed, so they said "god bless you" because of that.

Uh...your wrong..the term came from back when the Black Death was around... it was a catholic blessing from the Pope at the time..I forget which one....

Actually, there was some superstition back then that your soul left your body during a sneeze, and the blessing was to make sure your soul returned.

Also, just yesterday I read that the particles in a sneeze travel at over 100 mph.
