It has been a dream of mine to one day own a night club. I have worked as a bouncer and think I would like to own one. I wouldn't do this for probably another 7-10 years, but I really don't know anything about actually running one. Something good size over 1,000 occupancy, catered to 21-30ish, something like of a moderate to moderate-high cover, open Thu-Mon, Thur being ladies night and they get in free and Sat ladies half off, not quite sure on the music, that would depend on where I set up at, but it would have a mix of types.

Tough business, all most as tough as owning a restuarant. If you have your own place liquor licenses are expensive. If you rent a place where there is already a liquor license then they get most of the money. Of course a place that holds like a 1000 people you have to hustle to get music acts that would draw the crowd. You are always constantly marketing. People do make money but you need a place where there is a good population but not too many other clubs.
You should try it one day, rent out a spot for a night get some flyers and promote for a month get you a good dj and see how much you can make at the door and a percentage from the bar. A place that size would be geared to a younger crowd so you have to keep there attention. If you can get it going and hang on it is exciting business with long nights.
