  • I hate wearing glasses!

I started wearing glasses 4 yrs. ago and I swear, my vision gets worse the more I wear them. Maybe it's age though. I tried contacts but I have an astigmatism and they just don't work well for me.

I think I lost my glasses again. I haven't been able to find them for the last few days and I've looked everywhere I can think of. This is the 2nd time I've lost my glasses. It's frustrating! I'm due for a vision check anyway and I know I need a new prescription but I could have gotten away with just new lenses and keeping my old frames to save a few bucks. Grrrrrrrrrrrr! I hate being so irresponsible.

I'm gonna stop by the supermarket because I think when I wrote a check I possibly set my glasses down and left them there. I need the glasses for distance/computer/tv but for writing and close up reading I don't need them...actually I probably need bifocals but I refuse to get em. LOL

I saw a commercial just last week for contacts for people with astigmatism..... :agree:

Bro, chill. I wear glasses too. It aint all that bad, but i understand your problem. Personally I think that contacts are too much trouble with the fluids and them being useful only for a certain period of time. I much prefer wearing usual ones.

Contacts and astigmatism don't really work well IMO. I have the same problem. The only contact that is considered faily equal to glasses are the small hard plastic ones and trust me those suck. It feels exactly like what it is; a piece of hard plastic in your eye! I went the soft ones instead and they aren't worth it b/c they have a small weight on the bottom that has to stay in position or your vision gets blurred. It's a pain in the ass.

Be lucky your prescription isn't -11.50!!! LOL I'm blind as a bat without glasses or contacts. I never wear my glasses in public. People will think I can see the future.

Tell her to look in her gym bag...that's where I found mine today! My bag has a side pocket I almost never use but when I noticed the pocket as I was driving to work I checked and wallah, my glasses were there!

I don't trust the surgery, my aunt went blind in one eye from it. Or maybe she was just masturbating too much?

SC, you sound like my husband. As soon as I got my glasses he said he wanted to do naughty things while I wore them. :pimpslap:

Definitelly glasses can be a pain. However, they do not need to be as bad, especially now, when there are so many frames to choose from. I wear glasses for several years now, even though the doctor told me that I will not need them in my life ( he forgot the fact that nearsighted is carried in the genes and both of my parents suffer from it). Anyways, I think contacts are a great solution when you do some excercise. And yes, they have some new contacts for people with astigmatism.

I tried the contacts for astigmatism and hated them. It would get crooked and my vision was blurrier than normal till it straightened out. Plus, I had a very hard time getting that one in and making it stay, it was simple to do the other eye, but the bad one was a huge PIA. If it's windy the contact dries out and I usually drive with my windows open so that pretty much sucked.
