My boxer is shedding like crazy right now. Bouncer, I know you have a boxer. Does he shed a lot?? I have been brushing him but that does not seem to help. It seems like it always gets worse right around this time of year.

My cat is shedding like crazy too and he never sheds. Could it be the weather?

Most ..if not all animals, should be losing or lost their winter coats right now. weather plays a big part in animals shedding fur!

I take my dog outside every day and brush her. I can literally grab hand fulls of hair without the brush. She is a medium haird mut, mix of Shepard and doberman.

I think it depends on where you live. Where we live, chadd, it is hot as hell and humid at the moment. I thikn the sudden change made it worse on the dogs. I don't remember her shedding like this last year.

Maybe he is shedding his winter coat but it's not like his hair grows in a lot thicker of the winter months. Oh well, guess I have to run the vacuum every day until this stops.

boxers dont really have different coats. there fur is the same in winter as it is in summer.

Never looked thicker in the winter. Not sure why it is so bad this time of year. Maybe the weather???? Don't know.

Try Dem caps, I have to use them with Dobermans because of the dry skin problem they have. Also Diet has a lot to do with it. You can get Derm caps at the pet store in the Vitimin section. Also wash the pooch with Baby shampo.
