They're having a bunch of bands playing all weekend long in Birmingham. Def Leopard will be there Sat night. Me and my fiancee will be going to go see them. It'll bring back old memories listening to them when I was a kid. Might see "The Longest Yard" sometime this weekend.

Is that the summerfest where it lasts for like 3 days and several blocks are closed off? I went with my friend and we took the kids a few years ago to one and had a fantastic time!

This weekend I'm working. Stromba's friend is visiting from NY so I'm covering his hours at work. Blech! Sunday he's cooking dinner for the family since I'll be at work. I still need to shop for his mom's b-day gift (it was 2 weeks ago) and the Father's Day presents tonight after work. Today is my g/f's birthday so we cellebrated last night and went to the tiki bar after work and got free t-shirts and flashing pins courtesy of the Bacardi girl, then got some take-out Italian and had dinner here. She wants to go out again tonight so hubby and his friend will probably join us, maybe we'll go to the titty bar.

No, this is City Stages in Bham. I think summefest is in Huntsvile maybe? It sounds familiar though.

City Stages, that's the one we went to. I forgot the name of it. How many bands do they have lined up this year?

Lots of bands Fri, Sat, Sun. But the main acts were Ludacris lastnight, Def Leopard tonight and The Black Crows Sunday night. How long ago was it when you were here for it?

It was about 5 yrs. ago, maybe 6. I used to do an end of the school year road trip with my daughter up to the Panhandle to spend a week or two with my friend. One year she convinced me to go to Alabama and I had no idea how much I'd enjoy City Stages! The bands were fantastic and there were pleanty of activities for the kids. We even went to the Birminghan Zoo before heading back to FL.
