Basically we all know that for whatever reason the one team that has hit Halladay a little is Baltimore. On the flip we have Ponson who should consider a career at Skydome posting a 4-1 1.137ERA in 6 career starts there .....oops sorry the Rogers Centre. Ponson has 5 quality starts in his last 7 and a 2-1 record with a 3.86 ERA in June. The O's have won three of his last 4 starts with the lone loss being the third consecutive road start for him always a tough spot especially when you have won teh first 2 legs. Baltimore has played well on the road all year and I look for that to continue here. Dont forget that for 4 seasons Halladay owned Baltimore so this could be the evening out period/season. Even though trends point to teh Under 8 I think it goes Over 8 runs.
Yankees -1.5 Runs -127
Although the tuesday game didnt go down as expected in some ways in many ways it actually did. I said teh Yanks would hit Nomo and average a run per inning of hm that did happen.....the wrench was RJ's pitiful performance. Here is my beef with him and Flaherty,Torre, Stott.......it was obnvious his fastball was decent {94MPH} and his slider flat....why not just challenge hitter s with fastballs insutead of flat 87,88MPH sliders. Second is I applaud Torre for taking himn out after 3 innings however I think Joe fucked up letting Pavano go one more batter yesterday after hitting Hall with Sturtze ready. Sure you can say after teh fact but we know he struggled all afternoon with a blister and inningins 4-7 were all fairly shaky. So why not have a quick trigger when your SP is losing it?? Pavano problem at the Stadium is simple an dyou can watch tapes of it. All Pavano does is throw LH batter s down and away. Thats it never throws inside , nevers bustss them off teh plate its just fastballs and breaking shit low and away.......guess what when you cut half the plate off its easy to hit!!! How come the dont notice that...meaning Joe and Stott??? I sure do and vs RH he bust them inside to much and never goes away! Is the short potch in RF that much of a concern! Anyway Hendrickson has a poor track record on the road and irt getting worse this year. TB 1-5 in his 6 starts{win @ pitt} and he boasts a 7.55 ERA with 47 hits allowed in 31 innings. Oh and he lost both starts at the Stadium last year when TB was 0-10. Hopefully that kills the Rays get amped to play at the Stadium thoery cause they have sucked tehre for 2 years under Pinella wuith better teams!!!!!!! they are just getting the breaks and making them. Dont forget NY has twiced scored 13 runs in one inning at home vs TB this season and has a 19 and 20 run effort! Its just an odd situtation. Today we get Wang who has been NY most consistent starter and excellent at home. Ny is 4-0 in his starts and he sports a 2.70 ERA and slightily above 1 WhIp in 4 starts and a relief appearance. This is really teh first bad series NY has had at home in awhile and the 2 losses were both fairly tough. I'll take my chances on NY coming out hungry again and with Sheff hitting well and a LH on the hill.......oh boy....definetly an advantage to see another LH although he is more Moyer like! Maybe an Under 10.5 if we can get it also Huff is questionable today. BTW I said TB lineup is one of the worst in baseball and I got some remarks on that justy who do you fear other Crawford and Huff?? Gomes is hitting well but come on maybe Cantu and thats it!
Mariners -137
Just feel that Franklin with the exception of 1 start in his last 7 is pitching well and Sarloos is nothing more then a 5 inning pitcher and Oaklands pen is thin. Franklin has pitched well in his career vs Oakland and hopefully that continues today.
Cardinals -219
Just feel that Pitt is slumping and Morris is HOT. The Cards rarely go on losing streaks and Pitt 2-8 last 10 and hasnt beat StL yet. Williams is tough on th road but already 0-2 vs SL this season and StL loves LHP. Pitt could be without Mike Gonzo in the pen.
Under 9-115 StL
Morris tough at Busch and pitts offense not doing much lately while Williams has been great on the road.
Over 8 +101Atlanta
First we have Wilis making his 3 staright road start....tough spot for him. Then we have Atlanta hitting LHP very well and hitting Willis pretty well in the past. Then You have a long reliever in Sos getting a start meaning he is maxed out at 5 innings probably. Oh and Atlantas pen is not so good. Willis is closer to human on the road if you look at the splits!
Giants +134 & -1.5 runs +263
Feel that the Dbacks have trouble hitting LHP and even Rueter has had success vs them. Glaus is NOT 100% and he is there true RH threat. Just going against a SP who has pitched well but still managed to lose four of his last 5 starts which means his team isnt hitting when he pitches.
SD -150
Lawrence is usually tough at home and LA still doesnt look so hot they beat a young rookie SP last nite. I look for SD to rebound against Dessens today.
