  • Anyone else having this problem?

It has been freaking hot and humid as hell up in the northeast and my appetite has pretty much evaporated along with much of my lean body mass lately. As much as I want to eat and at least maintain muscle, I just cannot seem to stomach anything in reasonably frequent meals and even normal portions are a major chore to eat. Hell, I went out to dinner tonight and the two girls I went with ate more than I did :( In other words, I'm only able to eat maybe 2 (sometimes even 3) times a day and certainly not in significant proportions over the last 3 weeks. :bawl: I have lost a LOT of strength and size and my physical strength endurance sucks now too. I wouldn't mind as much (for cutting purposes) if I was at least getting enough protein but I know that I'm not right now. It's almost like a carb depletion feeling where you just drag ass around all week except without the appetite. This directly corresponds to the onset of super hot weather. I never noticed this to be as bad as it's been this year for me.

Question: What can I do to increase appetite during this period of hot, humid weather? I can't take this much longer and I'm not about to drink fattening Gainer's Fuel for the calories cuz I'd like to prevent further fat gain while maintaining (regaining?) muscle mass. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah...I'm not on any type of AAS/Prohormone cycles either, so those considerations should not be in play right now.

What time of day do you workout and what do you eat when you do?

I've tried early am, pm and midday (depending upon work schedule) and none seem to make much difference except that am workouts are probably lower on strength for me historically, as I'm not much of a morning person to jump out of bed and exercise.

Foodwise, I take a ON protein shake in water within 20 minutes after workout and then a solid food meal around 1-2/2 hours afterwards. Everything is down- amounts, frequency, you name it...

Only thing I can think of is that with all the changes in trying to time workouts and eating, your body has fallen into an unstabel slump. When I first started working nights, my sleep patterns were off, which made my workout were weak, and in the end I was eating at such different times that my body never really felt hungary. I feel that when I eat on a more scheduled pattern I get hungary around the same times. To get back to eating well I just started with breakfast of 5 egg whites 1 whole egg and a half cup (uncooked measurement) of oatmeal. I would get hungary within a few hours and instead of putting more carbs in I would either eat a can of tuna or a chicken breast. Keeping more lean protien and only a few carbs when I felt I needed got me eating more often.

Thanks, guys. I'm trying to eat regardless. Sorry Shibby, I may have made my workout schedule response unclear. I meant that I had experimented with various times prior to all of this but my workout schedule is now mostly early evening workouts for the past couple of months and hadn't changed corresponding to this heat/humidity/eating thing. I think getting I'm light-headed at times and duncey too, lol.

Some people find that Vit. B12 increases hunger, maybe it'll help you.

Thanks Puddles. I will be taking a B-Complex in addition to a decent multivitamin. Although I absoutely hate GNC, from a pretty widespread comparison, I think that they just might have the best multi-vitamin I've seen yet. The Men's Ultra-Mega caplets. I'm embarrassed even walking into that store and sometimes I giggle out loud when I see some of their markup prices on stuff. LOL.

PI, you just have to force it bro -- i work outside - the heats absolutley punishes me --

i just force it down by eating a bite and drinking water to get it to go down - with that said -since i have been dieting -- i cant wait till the next meal no matter how hot right now

Try Dandelion Root tea or wormwood herb. Both are supposed to be good at aiding digestion and increasing appetite.
