Need help with ideas for a new tattoo

Alot of tattoo guys were originally artists/drawlers to begin with. If they were not, you shouldn't be getting one from them to begin with. The only exception to this is if they have been in the game for more than 10 years.

Some of them will actually draw you up something for free if you tell them what you want. Run it by them and let them add to your idea/creativeness.

hey shibby, make sure you go big enough to get details in because if you shrink that down that much you have to take all the detail out and it will kind of suck, no offense. Yeah I would bring it somewhere you plan on having it done and ask them to draw something up making sure to make it the size you plan on having actually tattooed.

I was testing out sizes yesterday and I definatly like it better bigger than a sticky note. Here's a look at what I was thinking of. I think keeping the body of the white eagle, white really brings out the flag.

Actually it will be almost twice as big as that pic. And it will be in all tribal design.

you've got to post the final drawing or pic once you get that thing done, I'm really curious how it will look done in tribal, are you going to use any color?

Yeah I'd like to see the tribal eagle as well. Most tribles are done in black, are you going to stay true to that?

You've got a real white back so that should be too much of a problem ;).

Shibby, Find a tattoo artist that does work you like, there are usually one or two really good artists in any major city. Research their work and look at their portfolio...then go in and talk with them and have a frank discussion about your tattoo and what it means/what you were thinking it should look like. Then let them come up with some stuff, re-consult as many times as it takes to get it right. I've found that often, tattoo artists can come up with something better than I originally concieved of anyways...and they know the limitations of the medium better than I do.

Because it is on your body forever, don't skimp...cheap tattoos use cheaper inks that will fade, or are just not very good artists sometimes. Leave them for the 'heart on my ankle' crowd. get some art. you'll thank yourself later, and so will your son when he can still read his name in 20 years.
