  • Absolute Poker Sucks...

So Im playing for cash and let me preface by saying, this has happened several, (aat least a dozen or so times) so I dont think Im overreacting. Heres the most recent story...

5 minutes ago I was playing Hold'em $5-$10 blinds with me and 4 other players. Im the chip leader with $155, no one else has more than $75. I was dealt King/Jack suited in hearts. I raised $12 pre-flop and had 2 guys call, 2 fold. The flop comes, BOOM! I flopped a flush, ace/2/7 suited. So I decide to slow play it and bet $15, the guy to my right calls, the following guy raises to $30. I decide to not let him see the river without being all-in. So I re-raised all in. There could have been nothing but 2 pair on the board, which is what I had this guy on... so I go all in, surprisingly, the guy beside me calls as well, and of course, the last guy calls. The pot is now $290. The card turn over, I have my flush, the guy to my right has pocket 10s and the last guy had ace/8.So I can see why the last guy called, pocket 10s, Im not sure why.

Anyway... here's why I hate AP... the turn comes, 8..... and the river.... ace... I lose to a full house. Flopped a fucking king high flush and lost... and the only thing that can beat me is an ace and an 8, and what do ya know? The underdog wins 80% of the time on AP, I swear. Im withdrawing my remaining funds and getting the fuck off AP... its all fixed.

    That sucks!

I started out on AP, but also decided it sucked! Try Party Poker--it's pretty good.

I've heard of stuff like that before on ones you play for fun, but didn't know it happened with real money also. Kind of takes all the skill out of it.

Exactly. Not only does it take the skill out, but it rewards ignorant moves. I would never call an all-in (with real money) with a pair of aces, 3 hearts already on the boards and no hearts in my starting hand.... but this douche bag did and he got his 2 pair on the turn and full house on the river. Im still steaming....

That sucks bro, I get pissed when crap like that happens (people make stupid plays). Like last time, I was playing one of those free rolls, I made it to the finale table out of the 2000 people, it just me and some other guy, I have 2 million chips, he has 1 million. I have Ace, King off suite and I raise him 500k, he goes all in. He ended up having 7,8 of diamonds. Low and behold, I get two pair, while 3 running diamonds come up to give him a flush, he beats me and gets first place.

I hate how AP awards you for dumb moves, I can only imagine how I would feel if it was real money like you had.

It's the same on all the sites. I play on poker stars and I swear it's fixed. You can flop a flush and someone will have the higher card and be on a flush draw and get it on the turn or river.

That is why you play for really real with people who are just as drunk as you.
