I saw that on the news last week. I think that it was part of a newsfeed videoclip from Hurricane Dennis effects. Creepy.

If it's real and that was me.....I think I would have shit my pants and fell of the damn surf board. I'm going to Florida in a few weeks for vacation and my ass will be sitting in the sand. If I want to go in the water there will be a pool at the condo and that's enough water for me.......If God would've wanted me to be in the water he would have made me a fish!

I don't think it's a dolphin. Look at the tail. It is vertical; a fish's tail. A dolphin's tail (as with any other aquatic mammal) is horizontal. Also, it is too large for a dolphin. Look at it in relation to the man. That thing is 15 feet long if it is an inch.

I don't know what I would do If I saw that. It's position and proximity suggest to me it is circling in hunting mode. Since most shark attacks are simply cases of mistaken identity, I might get off the surf board so I don't look so much like a turtle (most common prey for Tiger Sharks). If he was close enough, I might even try to punch it. It wouldn't hurt the shark but it might startle it enough for me to get back to shore.

It's a dolphin, that pic has been around the web more than Paris suckin a cawk.

                      Info from the photographer himself...

Damn, that is one big dolphin then. I didn't know they got that big. I guess the tail could be horizontal. I think it is easier to see in the second pic on that website. I wonder if it could be some species of small whale. There are some that resemble dophins (just bigger). Bottle-nosed dolphins reach a miximum of 8 feet long. The one in the picture is clearly much larger than that.

dolphins are HUGE.... I always thought they were smaller till I swam with them. The babies were the size I thought full grown ones were!

Dolphins were way larger than I had ever expected!
