i was wonderin what you could tell me about your Rottweiler... like how hard it was to train or its temperment and how it plays with children and other dogs/animals
ive been looking at either a Rottweiler or a German Shepard, my parents have had two American shepards (just white shepards) and they were awesome dogs, great with kids, smart as hell, great protectors, but not very good with other dogs/animals, and incredibly athletic

They are very smart and very hard headed also. They actually reason. If you tell them to do something, they will think to themselves, "well i could do this a differnt way". lol. They are great dogs and will protect its family and home with its life. My two rottweilers that actually are my mom and dads, (they live with them) cannot be around other dogs and they dont much like strangers either. they were really great with my boxer and they really treated my little pup like it was there own. my boxer still thinks my male rottweiler is his dad. lol. they are great dogs but they are not for everyone. they have alot of alpha in them and they will try and be the boss of the house.

here is a pic of the male rottweiler with my boxer the first day i got him.

I can just picture that happening. Just like a little kid, running for mommy when shit hits the fan.

Bouncer didnt know you had a rottie. I have a one year old female...ill try and post a pic if i can get it to load.

But Sloppy Jo to answer your question. Make sure you do some research/reading before you go and get a rottie. They are big dogs so they need to be well trained. My girl is in the process of getting trained right now..im doing it myself. But she is extremely cool around people but not dogs. she is like a big lap dog basically. wouldnt trade her for the world. But basically it comes down to personality too.

I owned a rottie for years and I loved him. They are great guardians, but we spoiled him too much. When my daughter was born he hated her and any other person that would come to the house. He was poisoned a few years back.
