  • R.I.P. Johnny Cash

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 12) - Johnny Cash, ''The Man in Black'' who became a towering figure in American music with such hits as ''Folsom Prison Blues,'' ''I Walk the Line,'' and ''A Boy Named Sue,'' died Friday. He was 71.

    ''Johnny died due to complications from diabetes, which resulted in respiratory failure,'' Cash's manager, Lou Robin, said in a statement issued by Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

    He said Cash died at the hospital at 1 a.m. EDT.

              NOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Johnny Cash? One of my favs. Ive probably got 15 Cash cds. He was looking rough in that "hurt " video. That was the saddest video I have ever saw.

                  Nice avatar, speed. This is truly a sad day in music. Johnny Cash was and always will be one of the greats. RIP. :(

                          When George Jones and Merl go, Im checking out. With Waylon and Johnny gone country music is going to suffer. One of my favorite things is to get drunk with some buddies and moan those old songs by Geoge, Johnny, Merl, Waylon, DAC etc.
