Did anyone else watch this? It was about a heavyweight female bodybuilder named Joanna Thomas and her getting ready for the Ms. Olympia contest in Vegas. They talked about how she won like $2,000 for coming in 2nd at her first show which qualified her for the Ms. Olympia show and her male counterpart won $120,000. Sad. It was really a great piece I thought. I was hooked the whole hour.

I totally caught it by accident.
It was really good, and I feel awful that those girl BBs make nothing for money. Not like the guys do much better (in comparison to other pro sports) but the women really are bad. What is so sad is that those changes to her body (voice, hair, etc) are never going to go away. It takes SERIOUS drive to do something that is forever to yourself like that, especially when you know that the money is not there.
All that said, does it seem to anyone that steroids/bodybuilding is getting a LOT of coverage on TV recently? Granted, I do get every cable channel, and I am a meathead, so I do look for it. But it really seems like there is a lot more media coverage towards our sport (and the drugs that surround it) recently. And I think that most of it has been quite positive. Could we be seeing a shift in public opinion?
I hope so.

It actually doesn't make any sense to me, unless there would be a good bit of money involved.Originally posted by PumaIt takes SERIOUS drive to do something that is forever to yourself like that, especially when you know that the money is not there.

I hope it is okay to post a link to her site. I saw it in the picture and thought I'd check it out...pretty interesting.

You can add tour3.html to the end of that if you're interested in seeing the total physique.
