The new bike (finally)

as most of you know my friend totalled my last motorcycle, here is the new one. I have been working for a bike shop for the last 3 months so I got a steal on this 05.

Sweet. Glad you got another R1. Only thing I hate about the black versions is that red strip on the tires but otherwise still bad ass. How much did you get that for? Now just time to save up for that power commander.

9grand out the door, the bmws are not mine. Full Akro system is being ordered next weekend and the rims will be gone for lighter weight soon enough, I agree the red stripe annoys the hell out of me.

btw the difference between 03 / 04-05 model R1 is night and day, this bike 10x the older model is. And no, nobody is allowed to ride my bike, i learned the hard way ;)

I know it has more horsepower, perhaps from the ram air, and the underseat exhaust looks much cooler. I don't know the others but the price difference shows there's more. Yea no shit. I wouldn't care if matt mladin wanted to ride it, only ass on there would be mine.

it's longer and significantly more stable, the 03 will come right up thru 3 gears (no keeping it down in other words, pain in the ass racing) this one will throttle up in first and second if you want but it's much more of a dragged out version, I find myself blipping the clutch alot to pick it up now and alot less throttle involved, it's nice, alot more control.

Yea, that's what they said made it better than the gixxer. Little more mild down under, but the 185hp up top makes it frickin awesome. You can throttle up into the corners on the low end so when you come out the corner, you're screaming like a raped ape. Plus you don't want to be wheelieing or trying not to at every stop light.

I don't think the red stripes look bad at all. That used to be a popular after market thing to do until mfr.s started doing it themselves.
