the loan tomorrow to get the ring then am planning to go to the beach in 2 weeks and then do it as the sun sets over the beach this is so crazy one second i am installing some cable in an apt and the next i am planning on asking my g/f to marry me! i am really nervous guys!!! they say that 2 months salary on a ring but i don't think i wanna spen 8-9 grand on a ring! what are you guys thoughts on this?????

I think you might want to start saving for a ring and give it a few months instead of taking out a loan. I would also make sure that you know she will say yes. Best of luck bro. -

I'd save some cash and make a down payment so you can keep your loan amount as low as possible I'm not too sure if the rates are favorable, and although I'm against marriage I wish you the best of luck

Good luck bro. I agree with bouncer. For that kind of cash you are better off saving up. Save the loans for other things. However if you want to do this right away, like in the summer or something, you will need to get a loan if you havent saved.
On the rings, If you are unsure what you want to spend. Go look at some jewelers and find a few rings you like and compare the prices. So you understand what the quality of ring you want will run you.Comment

FYI: Remember when picking out diamonds is about QUALITY NOT QUANTITY!!! Also, don't go into jewelry stores like Freidmans or Kay Jeweler and think you're getting a great deal on a 3 diamond Past/Future/Present engagment ring. Most stores like that have cheap diamonds in them! Do your shopping...
