  • What happened to SNL?

Any of you watch Saturday Night Live anymore? What the hell happened to it. I have tried to watch this garbage and I honestly do not laugh the whole time. SNL used to be the shit. Mad TV is much better nowadays..

Mad Tv is playing reruns, aren't they? SNL is hit or miss now. I did like the episode with Justin Timberlake. Espcially when he was making fun of Ashton Kutcher. "I'm Ashton Kuther, and I'm awsome!!". Here is the link to watch that part.

I am old enough that I watched ever episode in the middle-late 70's

              Here is my thoughts

70's where great, early 80's with Eddie was great, then the late 80's and mostly the early 90's with Phil Hartman, Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey, Sandler, Norm McDonald, Etc was probably the best ever!

Now, I cant watch it either

Ditto. In the last few yrs. I've caught SNL a few times and just can't get any enjoyment out of the show now. I doubt they'll ever be even half as good as they used to be.

They need some talent !! I started watching in the John Balushi days. It has actually become painful to watch. No writing talent at all, the comedians suck. Hopfully it will be revived some day.

Even back in the days of Belushi, Ackroyd, Murphy, Chase, Curtin, Radner, Murray and Morris they could have todays writers and make it funny. SNL today lacks not only in writers but in actors too. I honestly feel that ever since Hartman died, SNL has too. About the only thing funny on it anymore is when they do a Jeopardy parody!

This goes in phases. SNL was on the brink of being dropped in the eighties but always manages to pull out of it. Eventually they replace the shitbags with true talent. It will work itself out. I am betting on Lorne Micahels to find some new talent, he has the history that says he can.
