I have my boxer living with us. The rottweilers live with my parents. As for the heads, they have the widest head of any dog. The cost is around $1500-$2000

thanks for the info, what are you waiting on to make your decision about the dog? I thought the dog in turner in hooch was taller, that type of mastiff looks shorter but stockier which would work better for me anyway, what weight can they get up to?

My friend has a South African Mastiff, probably very similar in nature. Very well behaved. If you're looking for a solid wrestling partner, that's the dog for ya. The only thing that would bother me was the drool, it wasn't too bad most of the time but when we were eating he'd salivate really badly. This one wasn't good with other dogs but I don't know if that's common to the breed. I don't think he tollerated the heat very well, if that's the norm that might be a problem for you living in the south.

One Christmas Stromba gave me a 4' tall leather giraffe. The dog was in the room when the giraffe was given to me. He freaked out thinking it was a live animal, barking and growling, slowly inching towards it, then backing off, sniffing in the air, it was comical! We had to hide the giraffe though, I think if we'd have given it enough time the dog would have really attacked it.

Bouncer, have you looked into Great Danes at all? My friends have one and personality wise this breed absolutely rules. This is their second one and both dogs were unbelieveable. This one is like a little kid and he's got no idea how big he is. If you're sitting on the sofa and he wants you to pet him, he'll just back up and sit his rump on your leg like he weighs 10 lbs. When the dog's paws are on my shoulders he's taller than me. He watches tv and can drink out of the kitchen faucet standing on all fours. Even though he's big, he tollerates the heat well, probably because he's so lean.
