I feel that there is so much energy in the world that is being used for the wrong purpose that it's not even funny. I understand that space exploration is our next frontier but if we don't have the fuel to travel into space then how the hell are we going to get there when we destroy this planet. Also, look at pharmaceuticals - there are tons of R&D facilities that are trying to make generic drugs for the originals so as to lower prices etc. What if the pharmaceutical companies (AND THEIR PRICES) were better regulated so as to keep us from having to have generic drugs? As a result, more time and money that is wasted on R&D for generics etc could be used to find the cure for cancer and so on and so forth. Can you see where I am going with this...
As for the Harley and the cost of gas - no I do not imagine anyone is going to buy one for the gas mileage when the mere cost of one is somewhat high. However, my point was that once inflation is taken out of the equation, we need to take a long hard look at what we are doing to help the situation (turning off lights - raising the AC - ALL OF THOSE THINGS).
