Anyone else watch this show. It's on TLC. Everytime I watch it, it gets me so excited to get my tattoo after my son is born.

Yea, it's definatly needs to be meaningful for some people. I'm one of those people. I have one that I got when I was 19 and until recently, into my mid 20's, I have thought about getting another one, but wasn't really puting it on my to do list. Now that I have an idea that would really make me happy, I can't wait.

Good show! I keep missing it but I've seen a few eppisodes.
I have only one tattoo and it is special to me however the artwork isn't as detailed as I'd like so next ink for me is to have this one touched up a bit. My husband has one also and he has an idea for his 2nd one, very special, but it's not anything we've seen so we're looking for artwork to bring to the guy, he does amazing custom work.

It's one thing when they have a stencil or copy of whatever to work with, but to watch them do it freehanded is another. My tattoo artist has 20 years in the business and I wouldn't go anywhere else.Originally posted by THE BOUNCERIts amazing what those guys can do with ink.

Originally posted by dreamgirlI watch it every week. It's really a neat art. Tattoos to me look so good for the first year, then the black lines get greenish and less sharp.
I'm with Bouncer, def. not for me.
The main cause of fading is sun exposure. Hubby's tat is in a covered area so his is still just like the day he got it. Mine's on my upper back but I use sunscreen when I go out so the black and the color parts are still vibrant.

:bravonew: Well said Puddles. When tats start to fade or loose their crisp lines it is because of sun exposure. Most people think they can get a tattoo and just forget about it other than showing it off. We have a lifeguard at the pool here that went and got a tattoo last week before he came to work, the tattoo artist told him to avoid the sun for the next 3-4 days while it healed, within 1 hour of having the tat he was soaking in the sun. I told him he should have just givin' me the money and I would have drawn on him with a sharpie, because that is how it will look in a month.Originally posted by PuddlesThe main cause of fading is sun exposure. I have 3 tats and I use a Lubriderm moisturizer that has sunblock in it, recomended by my tatto artist for everyday use. When I am out doing yard work I put Bullfrog sunblock on the tats themselves for extra protection.
