The real problem is that she is in the vast minority of parents who'd make their kids do something like that.

My younger brother stole an ACE bandage and a breath freshner when he was 4 or 5. When we got outside and my mom discovered it, she made him go back inside to apologize and explain what he did. He was so embarassed, and he never did anything like that again.

Good parenting would remove about 90% of thugs from the streets. 9 out of 10 times high profile athletes that came from troubled areas will tell you that their grandmother or mother kept them on the straight and narrow. Without that positive reinforcement, they'd be gang banging as well...and I don't mean the sexual kind.

Way to go Dr. Phil. You sound half full of shit, but it sounded nice. I'd like to see these stats backed up by fact, when it comes to good parenting. Sport athlete or not, if you are poor, no matter what nationality and gangs are around, you have a high chance of "bangin." Didn't you see the special they did about athletes that have/are "bangers."
