Hey everyone,
I needed to share this with someone. My daughter turned 13 this past June and is my little angel. Her mother and I have not been together for a while, BUT I still maintain my Dad duties with much honor and thankfullness.
It's my time with my daughter this Summer and my lucky butt had the fortune/misfortune to go through my daughter's first CYCLE, YES, I do mean CYCLE. She started her first period with me. I did have the fortune of taking my daughter up to her girlfriend's birthday party on the second day of her period and have some assistance from her mother. The remaining five days has been with me. I can tell you now and forever, this has been and eye-opener for me. I thought I was well versed in this area with buying the "multi-pack" tampons for her Mom and dealt with panties soaking in the sink, and other things you don't want to hear about...let's just say, I am Colonel Powell in the area of Red Wings with her Mom. Back to the story; my daughter and I have a real open relationship, talk to me about boys (DAMN), girl problems, etc. BUT on another level, having to show your daughter how to use panty liners and MAXI PADS was interesting to say the least. On the open part, she showed me the pad one-time to show me the difference between old and fresh....DAMNNNNNNNNNN.
Lastly, I was told I earned some serious cool points by not flinching and being very helpful during this time. She told me I was the "GREATEST MAN ON THE EARTH & THE GREATEST DAD." The only thing I can't remember is, if I earned the cool points before or after we got pedicures and my 6'4" ass got different color toe-nail polish on each toe.
I guess the moral is, if you are a Dad and you have a daughter, do everything in your power to be a Dad that has no boundaries that will cause your daughter to stop talking and sharing with you.
