I honestly believe that some car manufactures build cars with parts that last long enough to get them through the warranty period. I drive a Nissan Maxima and the warranty ended about a year ago. Within the past 3 weeks the drivers window regulator went out. I have had 2 freeze plugs go bad and my starter. All together in the past 3 weeks I have had to put over $1,100 into this thing. I love the car, it is a great ride and good on gas. I know of several people that lease cars all the time and never worry about these things but they always have a car payment. I bought the car used with the manufactures warranty still going. It has been payed off for awhile and I loved not having the monthly payments. I guess my question is....how do you feel about leasing cars or constantly trading in cars to retain a manufactures warranty?

I've been leasing the Honda Accord and I'm on my third one in my 9th year of leasing. I like driving a new car and not having to worry about anything going wrong with it but the monthly payments never end. I have less than a year left on this one and when it's done I'm probably gonna stop leasing and just buy a car and see what happens.
Before I started leasing all of our cars always had something going on them and when my daughter was young we didn't want to get stuck anywhere so having a reliable car was important. Now she's a teenager and if we get stuck she can deal with it. Oh, and I'm done with the Accord. It's been a great car but I want a convertible next, probably the Mustang. -

Estimate your yearly mileage if you are considering leasing. A major downfall of leasing is total mileage must not exceed the annual mileage cap set by the lease. If the vehicle has more miles than the leasing agreement stipulates (the normal mileage cap is usually 15,000 miles per year), you may be charged anywhere from 10 to 25 cents per mile for miles over the mileage cap. It pays to stay within the mileage limits.
Beware: those who may be thinking of terminating a lease early should think twice since there are severe penalties for early lease termination.Comment
