Thanks for all the kind words guys. I am OK and staying with a friend in Thibodaux, La....we finally got internet up. My family and I are all OK. My brother and I both lost our houses and work, but we are all happy to be alive. We are living with a major shortage of gas, ice, food, and water. I have been bringing supplies back to my family on the North Shore of the lake and that is my sole duties right now. There will be no normal life for us for a very long time and I may only be able to get back here very sparadically.

Thanks guys and hopefully I will talk to you all soon

Glad you're okay, buddy. Speaking about this, the other evening I found out from my mom that I have a second cousin that lives in New Orleans. He evacuated when they were ordered to do so. Right now, he's currently in Lafayette with my great-uncle. He also lost everything back in New Orleans. I'm just glad he's OK!

Thanks guys! Things are starting to look up now. My family and I are receiving federal aid to help start rebuilding our lives. I still have not been able to get into Orleans Parish to see my house since there is still a large portion of the city under water. Until then, I can't access the damages to file with my insurance company. The good news is that I have had contact with a few of my neighbors and they are all saying I may have had only an inch or 2 in my house, so it may not be a total loss. My business north of Lake P. is fine but still without power, but the southshore business is heavily damaged and will need structural repair before opening.

We are all pretty much over the shock of the whole thing and we are now trying to rebuild.

Thanks again guys and until next time, C ya!!
