  • Where are all the white people in New Orleans

i've been watching fox news ever since the disaster and I dont see any white people, i thought new orleans was kinda a redneck southern area?

and i noticed all that looting is done by non white people too...I wonder how much longer till the NAACP sues fox news for portraying black people as looters...it's embarassing as a US citizens how all of those asses are looting, and the gangbangers are roaming the streets with AK-47's robbing everyone in sight....I hope all those looters, all the gangbangers, the criminals, everyone causing trouble down there in a time like this get their heads fuckin blown

On a another note I'm also wondering how Phil Anselmo and members of Crowbar and some of the musicians from that great new orleans music scene are doing....im surprised we haven't heard of any famous missing people aside from fats domino

I've been there several times and downtown New Orleans has gotta be 75% African Americans.

Most of the white people listened and evacuated when they were ordered to. I have seen maybe 5 white people in all of the news programs I've seen. Also, most of the white people didn't live inside the city, they were in the suburbs surrounding the city. The suburbs where hit too, but there is no chaos going on there so it's not being shown on the news.

I understand many of these people are poor but the evacuations started 2 days before they were hit. They could have walked out of the city in that time. They chose to stay there.

That's cold but I feel the same way. I am about 2 hours away from New Orleans and visit quite often. If and when I am told a major hurricane is going to hit within 100 miles of me, I leave. I still can hear the mayor saying, this is not a shelter (Superdome), it is a place of last resort! People were showing up with no food or water expecting to be fed! Before the storm hit people were calling FEMA wanting to know where to pick up their MER and water! I was without power for a day and a half and I feel truly blessed that this storm missed me, but I don't expect handouts for every misfortune.

i'll be cold.....all those people or 99% of those people bitching about there food, water and lackthereof are probably the same people who are getting their meals thanks to us taxpayers, they are probably leaving in free housing, and they probably have 10 kids with 10 different partners that NONE of them can afford to begin with....and on top of that, they probably aren't even supporting the children with the money the government sends them, they're probably snorting it up their nose and that's why they didn't bring any food or water to the dome!!!!!!!

i'm just waiting to see jesse jackson pop up soon, it would be so fitting, he's always at the wrong place at the wrong time going on about some kinda bullshit......i'm gonna flip out, i'm sitting at home watching my tv, and these people in new orleans make me wanna go on a goddamn rampage....

it's a shame those worthless pieces of trash are making the people of New Orleans look so bad, cause i'd imagine the majority of people are great people

congress is also voting on something like a 10.5 billion dollar relief fund for new orleans, is that gonna include millions and millions of dollars to house and feed these looters and criminals that remain in new orleans? All the smart law abiding citizens are probably in texas as they evacuated when they were told

i want the people who need and deserve the money, not the worthless people who WILL be in front of the line asking for their free shit

I'm glad this thread got going. I really am compassionate normally but I've seen devestation here in FL from hurricanes, people with no food and water handouts for days and there were none of these problems No shooting the people who did come to help.

Last year my mother's area was destroyed by Charlie. It's predominantly a retired area, predominantly white. People lost everything but the ones who didn't took their neighbors in and everyone got along. Looting wasn't a problem. Expecting the gov't to bring them handouts wasn't expected. Why? Because all their lives they had to earn and work for what they got and they had respect for others. I was there the day after Charlie hit and once we found my mother, my husband and I went around the neighborhood helping to secure the homes of people who'd evacuated and for the ones who stayed we helped move debris out of the street and attached tarps to their roofs to help prevent more water damage. Street lights were out but the people driving were courteous. In the days that followed there was no running water, no electricity, no nothing, but the people managed without violence. This is the way it should be in America. It should never be anything like it is in New Orleans.

it was relatively peaceful during 9/11 too, between the citizens atleast....i think how new yorkers handled that and even the entire country who contributed really set a great precident or example for how a disaster should be handled....those of us who witnessed it will probably all remember how great it was to see everyone unite, come together, and help suffering people who they didn't even know

in new orleans its like everyone remaining is crazy, its not a small percentage of people who are firing the guns, raping, stealing, etc....when they show clips of the crowded streets, nearly everybody is rolling around a buggy filled to the top with stuff

i haven't seen any of the rumored "thugs with guns", but fox keeps talking about them, and shooting at the rescue planes/workers

I wonder how much of the craziness is related to drug and alcohol withdrawls?

here we go.....my mom just told me (she was watching primetime or something?)...i've only been watching fox news for the past hour....

but the naacp lawyer, black congress members, and the hardcore liberals are already coming out and saying the ONLY reason why the people in new orleans aren't getting fed quick enough is because they're mostly black people......its ALL because they're black, has nothing to do with the BLACK people shooting guns and all the people trying to help their worthless ass, it has nothing to do with all the red cross nurses who are probably scared to death they'll get raped

its only because its black people, so america doesn't want to help them, the government hates them, bush isn't quick enough....i'm surprised they haven't said the only reason New Orleans isn't dry yet is cause theres so many black people there.....if there was nothing but white people in new orleans i bet it'd be dry as a desert

i think all those people in new orleans that are acting like loons need to go to the naacp headquarters, along with every single member of the naacp and somebody needs to light that shit on fire and watch it burn

i'm gonna have to turn off the news soon, i just really cannot understand how stupid some people are

a guy on bill o'reilly brought up another factor that i didn't think of
if we ever a 9/11 in multiple cities, our country may just kills itself....the terrorists are probably loving what they're seeing

                          Taylor,

I have read your posts and I agree with some of the things you are saying, but you sound like a right-wing wacko. Do your research about Lousiana, the people who could afford to leave and listened to the warnings, did (which happened to be mostly caucasions). The majority of the people left were poor and we all know, this is the South and the majority of the poor people are black (same throughout the US). It has been this way a long time. Another news flash for you, New Orleans has been in the top ten murder capitals of the US for years.

My point is, of course you will find blacks on TV complaining, crime, beatings, looting, etc. This hurricane effected everyone, criminals included. Just because criminals are now homeless and such, does not make them any less of a criminal. There are plenty of black people not complaining and are good "hardworking, productive" individuals. That is not news, all the crap is. They are not going to report the good people doing everything the can to help other citizens or rescue efforts, again, not NEWS. Only the pain with be reporter, only the pain...

As a side note, I do believe relief is getting there as quickly as possible.

you can believe what you want to, but it doesn't change the fact that every scene captured on tv is of black people looting, ive seen two shots of mexicans looting...it doesn't change the fact that the NAACP are saying the government is taking its time because their are mainly black people remaining in new orleans, and it doesn't change the fact that black people have gone on tv and complained about not having a hot meal in the superdome

i guess all the white people are looting too, the newscasts are all just biased and refuse to show any white people doing something wrong?

i've never said every black person is bad, nor did i hint that....in fact in the other new orleans thread i said something along the lines that it's embarassing, its a shame that all these insane people are making the entire city of new orleans look bad

you can refer to me as a "right wing wacko" all you want, i'm anti-criminal, i'm anti-NAACP, i'm anti-complaining about free shit, i'm anti-shooting at doctors that come to help me, i'm anti-stealing, i'm anti-raping women, i'm anti-tearing up everything in my city, i'm anti-setting buildings on fire....if thats fucking crazy then that's just what i am....theres no excuse for that behavior
