  • Should NOLA kids and surrounding be going to school?

    Good idea or bad idea

I think it's a good idea, but i can see the other side...them kids got alot to worry about outside of school, especially the high school kids who do understand the significance of the situation

I think HS students whose schools have been destroyed should be given the semester off of school....BUT....once things are a little more under control, how about giving them the option to perform community service to help with the rebuilding process and humanitarian services...and give them high school credit for it, as you get when you do a co-op program.

That would give the city some much needed volunteer labor, allow the kids to earn credits even though their schools might be destroyed, AND give HS students the kind of education that you just can't get in a classroom.

the high school kids volunteering would be great, because i don't see alot of the adults volunteering......not that they wouldn't want to but they'll NEED to be working for money, that's why i think it's gonna take so long to rebuild

The registering the kids into school will give them a sense of normalacy and routine which is what people in general need. We are accepting kids here and giving them free lunch for as long as they are here.
