    VIRGINIA TECH –20

Duke sucks. They lost to a rebuilding bad E. Carolina team last week. The Duke QB threw three picks and only had 139 yards in the air. Tech went up against one of the best defenses in thew country which is why Vick and co. looked sluggish at times. I expect them to come out hitting all cylinders and blow Duke out.

    WASHINGTON +9

Cal lost its starting QB in the opener, and the backups went a combined 2-17 vs Div 2 Sac St. The defense is still up in the air with 8 new starters. Washington should come out a little more focused after blowing a 13 point lead to AF. The offense looked fine, with a good mix of run and pass, no turnovers, and allowed no sacks. It’s the defense that is the problem especially the run defense. I expect a low scoring game here with Cal pounding Lynch all day long. I’ll take the points for the home team.

    IOWA –9

ISU beat Div 2 Illinois St. by 12 last week. They avg only 92 yards rushing on a 2.2 ypc. That is not going to get it done vs this Iowa defense. Regardless of this being a rivalry game I really think Iowa blows ISU out.

    TCU –14

TCU fans are still probably celebrating their victory over OU. The hype is there and since this game is only a 20 minute drive for the Horned Frog faithful I expect a pro-TCU crowd even though they are listed as the road team. SMU let Baylor win on the road for the first time in 25 games for Baylor…that’s how bad SMU is. Last year TCU beat SMU 44-0 and I expect a similar result. SMU QB combination of Tony Eckert and Jerad Romo combined to hit only 9-of-26 attempts.

    MINNESOTA –13

Minny has won 17 straight non-conference games including last year vs CSU 34-16 in Fort Collins. The CSU offense didn’t impress me too much in their loss to CU. CSU totaled only 95 yards on 34 rushing attempts (2.8 ypc) and Holland threw 4 INTs. CSU losing to its rival after having a 21-10 lead in heartbraking fashion now having to go up north and play on the turf against the Minnesota rushing attack…Minny rolls big here.

    TEXAS TECH –34.5
    TEXAS TECH –20.5 1H

Despite FIU staying within 14 of KSU, this game will be blow out city. The FIU offense earned just 10 total first downs in the game and converted only 5-of-15 third downs. KSU also turned the ball over 4 times on offense and still put up 35 points. FIU has no idea what its getting into facing the Tech spread offense. Leach never calls off the dogs and because he’s breaking in a new QB expect Hodges to get plenty of action…also the backup for Tech RSFR QB Graham Harrell may be one of the best recruits Leach has ever gotten to come to Tech.

    WAKE FOREST +7

Micha Andrews rips off 254 rushing yards and Wake gets back 2 time All-ACC RB Barclay. Not bad for a potent running attack. Nebraska’s offense still looks horrible. They only accounted for 1 TD vs Div 2 Maine. Zac Taylor was only 15-36 and threw 2 INTs. Should be a low scoring affair and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wake pull off the upset.

    WYOMING –20

This game will be a blowout and is by far the best play on the board. Monroe lost to Div 2 NWST last week. NWST was able to pass on Monroe all day, and that doesn’t bode well going up against the pass attack of Wyoming.

    GEORGIA –18

Spurrier has kicked off so many guys off the team its not even funny. He cut some schlorship players by saying he can find walk-ons better then them. Don’t think the fans in Athens don’t have this game circled. Georgia was Spurrier’s whipping boy when he was at Florida going 11-1 vs them. Don’t think the alumni aren’t in Richts ear to beat the leaving hell outta of Spurrier. I remember a few years back when Spurrier ran the score up to get to 50 points which I thinkwas the most ever scored against Georgia on their field…his comments after the game when the media asked what he thought the Georgia fans thought of that “Well there were only 500 people in the stands so I doubt they mined”. Classic Spurrier.

    PURDUE –35

I actually like Brandon Kirsch and think he’ll bring a little more of a running game with at the QB position for Purdue. They should be able to name the score vs the Charlie Frye-less Zips. All Frye did was break 54 school records. The Purdue defense was great last year and return all 11 starters (17.2 ppg). This one should get ugly.

    BUFFALO/SYRACUSE UNDER 43

Buffalo couldn’t even reach the red zone vs UCONN, and they won’t against a Greg Robinson coached defense. Syracuse offense is pretty horrendous as well. The Orange posted a total of 103 yards on 57 offensive plays, an average of well under two yards per snap. I typically don’t play totals but this was a no brainer.
