Well lets start by saying how I walked in and just started laughing at this guy. He was about 5'8" weighing 180 with his spare tire showing nicely through his under armour shirt . Whatever we all see this too much. Well he had his 4-5 year old son hanging around with him and his son was climbing to the top of the incline bench and sliding down. He then started going around getting 2.5 and 5lb weights and loading them on to one side of the bench. His dad and his dad's friend just smiled. I said "It won't be so cute when that bar flips up, lands on him and kills him." The guy just said "oh he's fine" then just does his last set and they leave. I was so dumbfounded by his answer I didn't know what else to say. It just reminds me that, just because people have there own kids, you shouldn't trust them with yours.

It has always annoyed me how this gym dosn't create a more business atmosphere, but I don't have any other options. It's not the first time that kids have been hanging around the weight area and worrying about the kid getting hurt, but it was never this bad. But yes those feelings are even more intense now.Originally posted by ROCKETW19you see thing different now that you have your own kid!

yea, thats kinda bs how no one really inforces anything, I don't have a kid, but if it was my little cousin I would definitly make sure he was in a safe place where he couldn't injure himself easily, I don't know if you have or not but just mention something to the management, I mean all it takes is one accident and a child could be seriously injured or even worse.

For the child's safety and so the gym doesn't get sued when a dumb parent isn't taking care of their kid, definitely let it be known that there are rules and they're not being followed. That's about all you can do though.
If the gym management doesn't enforce them, they may still get away with winning a lawsuit if the rules are posted.
Drives me nuts when I see stuff like that. Some parents are just so clueless.

:bravonew: My thoughts exactly! Shibby, if I were youI would bring the fact up to the management that when this kid gets hurt they will have a major lawsuit on their hands. And like Puddles said before some parents are clueless. I honestly feel at times that people should have to have a license to have children.Originally posted by PuddlesFor the child's safety and so the gym doesn't get sued when a dumb parent isn't taking care of their kid, definitely let it be known that there are rules and they're not being followed.
