This may a very basic question, but why is HRT legal, and steroids not. From what I have read, HRT is getting a perscription for steroids, right? Is it the doses are lower, or what. Just curious.

It's because people on HRT, their bodies are deficiant in the hormone. Just like people with low thyroid hormone take more thyroid hormone, diabetics take more insulin, people who have low levels of testosterone or growth hormone get to take more of those. The doses usually are lower as well, but that's not what changes it's legal status.Originally posted by jwoody -

They deem that these people have a medical need for them and others don't. Cause these people don't have enough, other's do, so therefore they don't need them and anymore than what is normal, they consider is harmful, hence illegal. Steroids, even if not used for just HRT, are not illegal as long as they are prescribed by a licensed physician. Besides, your not going to get a script from a typical rejuvenation center for the amount you would want to use for a good cycle. You'd probably need more than one source. Plus, most of them are terribly expensive. A typical diagnosis that a dr. would use is Hypogonadism. If your lucky enough to find a dr. who will write you a script, you can walk into a pharmacy and get it filled, along with all the pins you need, which to are legal too in that case. The only problem is that the dr. has to stay within certain dosages. He can't write you a script for a gram of Cyp. or Enan./week, that would be obvious he was just letting you juice up. About the maximum limit a dr. would prescribe/week, would probably only be about 200mgs., without looking fishy, if someone would be looking. And you can bet your arse the people at the pharmacy would have raised eyebrows at anything more than that. It's not much, but it's better than nothing. The best part is though, your insurance would more than likely pay too. If they were "illegal", there would be no drug companies in the U.S. who would make them, and there are several. BTW, Oxycodone, Valium, Xanax, Lipitor, Nexium, are all "illegal" if you obtain them without a prescription. Of course, you'd probably only get a slap on the wrist for the Lipitor and Nexium, but may have a problem with the others. Just food for thought. BBComment

It is basically an arbitrary line drawn in the sand. A good example of this is that the day before the prohormone ban, prohormones were legal but the day after the ban they weren't legal. What really changed in one day? Nothing. It's the government "protecting" us from ourselves and they use the "keeping it out of the hands of kids" and fear mongering/scare tactics arguments to justify their positions and decisions. Yet, Tylenol has killed or severely injured a lot of people but that's legal because a big pharmaceutical has the money to make it so. There is not one documented case that I'm aware of in which steroids actually killed anyone, contrary to government claims. That's not to say that they haven't contributed to any fatalities but the government's claims are wholly misrepresented.Comment
