  • "It Takes a Thief" on Discovery

I thought someone posted about this a while back, but I couldn't find it. Anyways I just started watching it. I'll tell you what, I will buy a dvd collection when I look at owning a home one day.

So much of it's common sense.

I used to leave one window on the lower floor unlocked so my daughter could get in if she got locked out of the doors. After seeing the first eppisode I realized how stupid that was and now everything's kept locked.

On one eppisode they showed a couple that had dogs and the dogs would bark if someone was at the door however, when the thief guy broke in, the dogs didn't bother him at all.

I have yet to get a chance to watch this show - what significance is the DVD collection comment?

Just so that I have lots of ideas of how it should be protected. They also show alot of the up to date security stuff.

i watched that one also the pitbull wanted to play with him. i stoped watchin cuzz its kinda like a repeat he just steals different stuff. and puddles it realy dosnt matter if your windo is closed and locked if someone wants in they will get in. just break the windo instead i know your thinkin it will make to much noise i have shot guns in front of my house (dont ask) and not one neighbor even looked out side.

They could just as easily cut the glass open near the window hinge and get in anyhow if they use one of those suction cup mechanisms like for windshields.

Yes, they can break the glass and they often do, but the idea is not to make it easy for them by leaving windows and doors open.
