  • Why Pay high Fuel Prices?

Have you all seen this below

I drive a deisel car and am gonna look to get it modified to take cooking oil as an alternative, I drive about 40,000miles a year so it would save me a shit load of money. Apparently you car run your deisel car on used cooking oil, best is from japanise restaurants:bbq:

You DON'T need to modify your car's engine at all to run biodiesel IF you already have a diesel. The engine will idle smoother and you don't encounter any difference in the powerband either. They reduce emmissions by up to 70% and burn more completely than just diesel alone. Also, diesel fuel needs to have lubricants added to it so that engines don't wear out so quickly but biodiesels already have lubricants in them by virtue of their physical properties. Enjoy.

That's biodiesel. This article is stating you can start up your car with regular diesel or biodiesel, and then flip the switch and run straight veggie oil. Now that veggie oil is cheaper than petroleum, I wouldn't be surprised to see companies switching to that to make biodiesel.

I get ya. I think that it would be much simpler just to mix your standard fuel tank with some diesel and add vegetable oil to that instead of adding a another tank (has to be crash rated and pass DOT specs, rerouting fuel lines, installing wiring and switches and all of that crap. The benefits are minimal when compared to just using the existing components with a mix.

What's the difference? Once people start using cooking oil, they'll raise the prices of that too. I wouldn't doubt that the oil companies would buy up all the veggie oil manufacturers so they could keep control. BB

I know if everyone in the US didn't by gas for two days straight they would probably lower gas prices so much beause they would lose so much money, but people aren't cmmitted that much to do that so it will never happen.
