Where would all that money that congress has already passed for rebuilding go?

You can bet it wouldn't go where it should. They, the Gov., would just waste it as usual. But that is a damn good question. BB

I don't see the government nor rebuidling N.O. It is in an important region and is a major hub for imports.

The federal gov. gave N.O money to build a stronger levy system. The local officials in LA used the money to build a bridge over lake Pontratrain lolz. If they "have" to rebuild stay out of the bowl altogether. Build above sea level in the French quarter (like the native americans did). Also offshore erosion has made LA much more dangerous then years ago.

The water (and soon to be land) is not just toxic but lethal. A friend of mine who is a voluteer told me a story about a who firefighter jumped into waist high water to save some people and had to be air lifted out with 3rd degree burns.

NO offense are u smoking crack, NO is the largest shipping hub via oceanic route... they have to build it or atleast the shipping/distribution aspect of it, all the states that border the mississippi river depend heavily on the aspect of the NO port

I'm pretty sure he meant to type "I don't see the government not rebuilding N.O." That's OK though-you're both right, but why not rebuild most of the city in a safer area above sea level. The ports don't have to be immediately adjacent to the city, although it was beautiful and a cool place to visit the way it was before.

yah like rebuild the ports maybe 50 miles inward and widen the damn river to decrease accidents, shit 50 miles in would make things a lot more stable and safer,

Give the corps of engineers 3 yrs I bet they get it done
