im a panthers fan, and im glad we won but i honestly always do root for bret favre and people say he's done every year

i still think he's one of the top QB's in the game....if he had the defense carolina, new england, indianapolis this year..green bay would be undefeated, he's still a playmaker he's still one of the best, he's a gamer....those turnovers GB has had are overrated. When your defense can't stop a girl scout from running right up the middle for td's bret is forced to throw impossible catches that have ended up in a few picks this year

hopefully green bay will still make the playoffs....and hopefully green bay will try and stack a team next year, i'd like to see bret go out on top, or atleast go out in 3rd place behind carolina and whoever the afc super bowl team is :)

:hmmm: So a QB at his age that doesn't have the time to heal before the next game is good? I don't think so. He had his time in the sun, but he has to realize that he is not what he once was. At his age his body takes longer to heal. Don't get me wrong....that sonofagun is tougher than I will ever be, but he needs to let it go and move on. IMHO his accuracy is not what it use to be. Does he want to end his career like Jerry Rice did?

This should be his last year. But hell they don't totally suck. They won me some money last night.

don't get me wrong I hate the packers, but I don't think it's favres fault at all. I saw dropped passes last night and a defense that sucks balls.

I don't think any one person is saying it is all Favre's fault, but he sure isn't helping the situation. I saw the same dropped passes but I also saw passes well overthrown when his receivers had beaten the deep coverage.

well for one brett favre doesn't have a marvin harrison or a steve smith, randy moss, terrel owens,etc...he has a bunch of 3rd string recievers

favre still throws as hard as anybody in the game, is he as accurate...i dont know i can't really judge that by 4 games, everyone is going to overthrow and underthrow their recievers throughout a game whether they are in their prime or not

and is he as good as he once was? no, but he was the best when steve young retired in my opinion, but just because he's not the prize #1 QB right now, its not like he's fallen off, he's still great....he nearly single handedly beat the panthers last night in the 4th qtr, with 2 td passes and 2 2 point conversions.....and i know im biased towards the panthers but that's no shitty defense (altho they could've led you to believe that based on last night)

if i had to choose one qb for one game...i'd probably choose peyton, vick and brady over favre, but those are the only ones.....i'd take favre over mcnabb...maybe im crazy but i think mcnabb is overrated...mcnabb has had a great defense and a good running game the past few years

ahman green hasn't rushed for 100 yds in like 7 or 8 straight games

Bad14u just has some crazy dislike for Favre, always has. Even the top NFL anylists say he's still got it.

Not true Shibby! I didn't like him for the longest time, but in a post sometime back I told you I had a new found respect for Favre. I think he is a great guy off the football field, and he was one of the greatest on the field AT ONE TIME. I honestly feel he just doesn't have what he use to and the Pack is going down hill. Good wide receivers are not gonna want to play with some old ass qb. I would hate to see him go out like Jerry Rice did...looking for teams to sign him before a good friend comes up and says "Brett...give it up."

That's true, but that day isn't hear yet. I have never heard of a reciever that didn't want to play with him. GB is his home and he is going to stick with them instead of moving to another team to try and go out on top. If he left GB today, There are probably only 6 teams that wouldn't look to sign him and start him and that' because they already have the likes of Brady, Vick, Rothlesburger, Peyton, Mcnabb, Eli (only becuase he is there franchise QB). That's still 26 teams left...

I'd be willing to bet that even the whiners would sign him even though they broke $49 mil for their rookie qb that they don't even really play. I actually think that he'd do good there too with the likes of johnnie morton.

http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1028 - consistent stats?. Def. still is starting QB material. I think he could lead a team like the Jets into the playoffs.

It's always hard for me to discuss this with you Bad14u, it seems that no matter how many ways I prove he still has it, to you I come of as a die hard fan not wanting to loose my hero. The only reasons you can keep giving is that he is missing some passes, throwing some interceptions, nothing that is new to his carreer in the first place. But it happens all the time to any QB.

Shibby, please don't think that I am dissing your qb. Granted he still has the ability to play qb and play it well, but not great like he use to. Everyone ages and their bodies take longer to heal. His body will not heal as fast as a qb that is 10 years younger than him. Granted a qb 10 years younger than him doesn't have the experience but he will be able to heal faster and not have injuries from the game before slowing him down for the next game. Believe me I know it is hard to say that your favorite qb has lost what he once was....I was a huge fan of Troy Aikman and I didn't want to see him leave the game...but he had to. Too many more concussions and he would have been a vegetable. Favre is a legend and no one can take that away from him, but how much longer do you honestly think he can play?

Not much longer, I agree about that. But I feel you are placing too many of the problems on Favre's shoulders. There isn't that much difference in his game from when he was in his prime. Him scrambling a little slower is the only major difference I see. Also the organization isn't recruiting to fit his game. Everyone knows Favre will be done soon, so they have to prepare for there first pick of the draft, there rookie QB Aaron Rodgers.
