Well,I made it out of Hurricane Rita ok

As y'all know Houston got hurricane force winds since we were west of the eyewall. Here's some before and after pictures of my neighborhood. First off, here's a couple of neighbors' houses boarded up.





When the winds started to get up to gust strength,we decided to get the vehicles out of the carport and that's my neighbor's Jeep to the left. We pretty much followed his example. The neighbor on my left side of the house decided to move his Suburban to the street.





And here's the carport all emptied out just in case some big pine tree branches decided to hit it.



Now the aftermath of the storm. In front of the backdoor,it was just many broken limbs lying on the ground. Though there was a big pine tree branch that nearly hit the rental house in back. We had already started a heavy trash pile and moved the big branch out there. Another neighbor had done the same.

Yea,it was. I loaned my brother my camera. He took some pictures of his friend's property out in Woodville. They got off worst than us. There were entire trees down. Trees in houses. Mobile homes knocked over. This town is on the outskirts of Beaumont and the eye passed right through it. Man,we really dodged a missile!
