  • I need a good dog name

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting an American Bulldog around January of next year... but I have no idea what to name him. Here are some that I've come up with but I would love any kind of suggestion: ajax, booker, deuce, slate, kayo, duke, cain, brock, dane. Right now, cain is my favorite.

Here are some random pictures of them.

I don't want a generic name that everyone and their mom has, something kinda unique. My brother named his doberman Riddick, and I really like that one. My gf likes Riley, but I don't know.

i always wanted to name a dog "hubcap" but that name wont fit a dog like yours! i have a pit witch i named "rocket" i think you should look at names of things instead of names of people.

How about Bully? I've always said that if and when I got a big dog I would name him Fender....cause he could rip a fender off of a car! So....Bully, Fender or Crutch. I like Crutch too because if he got hold of a leg you would be on crutches for a while!

***hey Jo, i have a Am Bull, Roxy 3 yrs. old---She weighs about 80lbs.. All muscle of course.... let me give you some advice---- The Am bull, is a very great dog, but much has to do with the OWNER.... They need to be socialized while they are pups--Or else they will see other dogs and people as a threat and attack..... They need to be exercised or they will ruin your house...... they need company, keeping them outside by themself is not going to work, they love people and must have alot of attention or they will be doing something to get your attention..... Females run from 60-100lbs.... males 80-140lbs.... Before making the Am Bull a pet, please make sure you have the "time" for them, they require lots of it and if you give it to them they are AWESOME.. I love the breed they say they are the most loyal dog ever breed, they also love kids, and if you spank your kid, you might have a Bulldog taken a chunk out of you...... :nerdnew: I had my bull at a friends house with 2 huge german Domermans, she dominated them both and at the end of the night was chasing her tail while the two, laid there worn out. It was great, my buddy couldn't believe that my 80lb. Female totally took control of the 2 110lb. Domerman.... They had fun...

                  Cupcake! ;)

I had weird names for my pets. Nippy was my german shepard and Easter was my collie/retriever mix. My cats are Sebastian and Gavone (but we usually call him Smelly Boy). My beta fish are Sushi and Ginger, Blueberry died. Our cockatiels were Baboo, Elmo, and Fiesty.

Anytime I think of a big working dog, I think of a strong name, like Samson. You could call him Sammy when being playful.

BTW, anytime you want a tough name, look up some Roman/greek mythological names and warriors. Names like Magnus come to mind.
