  • not sure whats wrong

we brought home junior [boxer] last week -- the last few days he seems down -- sleeps alot and is not eating in the morning -- he seems to cheer up when my daughters come home from school -- they get him outside and he runs and plays for abit but then goes back to just sleeping --

the only thing i can figure is homesick -- he misses his brothers and sisters -- i am going to give it another day and if things dont change i will have to take him to the vet --

    what do you guys think

im thinking their like that, cause my sisters bof bought one about 2-3 weeks ago. All he does is sleep all day long. When hes at his house hes just theres all down, but when he comes over her our house, hes all hyper for a few minutes, gets tired and crashes out cold for hours. This puppy they bought him straight from a pet shop here in town, he was the only one left.

    Talk to the vet brother.

Puppies are usually like that at first. Most of the time they only want to play for a little while and then they want to go sleep somewhere and be left alone. Personally, I think he's fine and nothing to worry about, but might just want to hit up the vet since their seems to be a canine virus going around. Wouldn't want him being sick and not know it since he's being a soldier and just trying to sleep it off.

Mine slept a lot in the begining too.

Cute dog brother. Hope he doesn't go through the chewing stage like my boxer did. He would never chew anything of mine but would always chew up my wife's shoes!

Have you had him checked for worms?

Young puppies, like babies, sleep a lot. Do some research on Google but it sounds pretty normal so far. If he has trouble breathing or has a cough or wheezing after playing I'd be concerned, but if he just goes to sleep, that sounds right.

get the pup up to date with all shots and try to mix the food in the morning with a little wet food to get his attention. dry food is about as bad as those chicken patties you eat

Hey bro, no worries, I got my boxer pup a couple of months ago and it was the same way. It would play for a little while and then right to sleep. It's a puppy, it needs its rest. Give it a couple months lol, your going to wish it would take more naps at times!
