I can help a bit. The -3.0 is how many points Tennessee is giving Georgia. The 40.5 I beleive is the over under score. Hope that helps a bit.

Yup exactly.

Vegas has placed Tennessee as 3 point favorites over Georgia. Meaning, if you bet on Tenn, they have to win the game by more than 3 points. If you bet on Georgia, they get their final score plus the 3 pts that vegas gives them. They can still lose the game but if it is by 2 or 1 point, then you win if you bet on them.

The other number is the over/under. That is the total points that vegas predicts the game will have.

So if a line is Tenn - 3 o/u of 41 then vegas predicts the final score to be Tenn 22 Georgia 19.

Tinfish and Timma - thanks for the help. It's starting to come together a little at a time now :D. Is there still a chance that someone can point me in the direction of a place to go in order to learn more at my own pace without having to ask ya'll any more silly questions. I googled some stuff but all I really got back was mainly books and gambling websites.

I tried looking somewhere online once and couldn't find a thing to help. I learned this stuff just by asking friends and watching other people I knew who bet. Don't worry about asking. If you need help just say so.
