I know these people are certainly not representative of the black community as a whole, but a lot of people (not just blacks) are definitely too quick to blame history, the government, their schools, their parents--absolutely anything but themselves for their situation in life. If they'd spend half the time they spend bitching trying to do something to better their situation, they would probably not have anything left to bitch about!

The thing with using the word nigger by blacks, makes them feel empowered. They have taken the word out of the white mans common day vocabulary. I also feel when making a intelectual statement and having to use the phrase "the n-word" gives them more power and continues to put fear in the common man even when using the word in a non-derogatory manner. It's as if that word is the equivelant to damn god himself among christians.Comment

Two people with shovels could probably substantially weaken that levee enough in a day to trigger a collapse under that type of strain. It was all just earth with some sheeting in front of it. The Black Panther guy sounds like a real idiot just looking for some publicity and airtime. The black militant thing went out in the 70's.Comment

Most people see it that way, Farrakan and his flunkies all believe the white man is to blame for everything. Saying that Mayor Nagin showed them the hole that the explosives made is just rediculous.
