Why does ice sometimes smell like garlic?

Shibby its not the fact that its ice but the chemicals in ure water when frozen release the smell as it evaporates when taken out of the freezer...there also is a smell with a reaction of aluminum that smells like it too when aluminum is frozen

The stinky stuff in garlic is allicin, which is a thiol. Common chemicals that smell similar and may well be in your water are mercaptans (RSH). These chemicals make your natural gas stink (t-butyl mercaptan), make onions stink (allyl mercaptan), skunks stink (butyl mercaptan), and make asphalt stink
