If you watched football or any sport youd know the ACC expanded to compete with the best...The Big 10.. The SEC was never mentioned...SEC may be the 3rd or 4th best though... Dont think so??? why did Ok play the title game last season while Auburn was undefeated????? Cause Auburn played nobodyOriginally posted by Curls4dGirlsI can't believe that someone is actually arguing that the ACC is a stronger football conference than the SEC. No respectable football analyst in the country would even entertain that notion. Asinine.Last edited by Gods Son; 11-13-05, 05:59 PM.

Auburn's strength of schedule has nothing to do with the quality of the program. Program quality should be measured by quality of the players and coaches.
Let me give you some stats.
The SEC leads all conferences with 261 players on 2005 NFL opening day rosters. ACC is a distant second with 231.
Although Florida State leads all schools with 42 players in the NFL, it is the only ACC school in the TOP 5. And, FSU and Miami are the only ACC schools in the Top 10.
SEC has 3 of the TOP 5 spots and 5 of the TOP 10 spots. very, very lopsided.
1. Florida State 42
2.FLORIDA 37
TENNESSEE 37
4. GEORGIA 35
Ohio State 35
6. Michigan 34
7. Miami (Fla.) 33
8. AUBURN 31
9. LSU 30
Notre Dame 30
In the last 10 years, the SEC has won 3 national championships (4 if you count auburn last year). ACC ... 2.
thanks.

Auburn played nobody??? Auburn had the most wins over 9 win teams. You wanna know why OK played in the last two championship games when they shouldnt have, I'll let you in on a little secret, the comissioner of the BCS is the comissioner of the Big 12... I think that had a little something to do with it when OK lost their conf championship game to K. State and still got to play LSU when they shouldnt haveOriginally posted by Gods SonIf you watched football or any sport youd know the ACC expanded to compete with the best...The Big 10.. 6 SEC teams in top 25... 4 ACC teams...

Face it godsond, your opinions are strictly bias without the right facts to back them up. You are just a die hard fan, nothing wrong with that. I can let my emotions blind me to some of the facts the same way, when it comes to the Packers.

Anyone who thinks there is a tougher conference than the SEC in this country when it comes to football doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
The reason Auburn didn't play in the championship last year is because of these fucking pre-season polls before anyone has played a damn game. Even if 3 or 4 teams go undefeated, if the top 2 don't lose they won't drop out of those spots. The system is shitty, everyone knows it, but until it changes it is all there is.....
And why are you going to say "let's see what happens when south carolina plays an acc team"
I'll tell ya what, that would be a good matchup for an acc team play the 5th or 6th best team in the SEC.....that's the only way the game would stay close.
I'll take a 1 loss SEC team over any undefeated team in the country......
To even think of a team going through the whole SEC undefeated and not have a shot at the national title is absolutely ridiculous.

hmmmm bro if South Carolina would have beat the ACC 4th best school they would have won their division of the SEC.Given a Georgia loss. But Clemson wouldnt allow a SEC team to score a touchdown. So they lost.Miami is number 3. Va Tech was number 3 before their loss. That means the ACC has been in the race for the title all year long.Im sorry the SEC is Inferior.

Ummm LSU is 3 now... if you didn't know Miami got beat by GT. South Carolina wasnt going to the championship, UGA plays Kentucky this weekend (blowout). And Alabama was #3(BCS) before they lost to LSU. Not to mention Fl. St. who is going to play in the conf championship lost 3 games to nonranked opponents.Originally posted by Gods Sonhmmmm bro if South Carolina would have beat the ACC 4th best school they would have won their division of the SEC.Given a Georgia loss. SEC 5 teams ranked 3,9,13,14,&19... ACC 5 teams ranked 5,10,20,21,&23
SEC AVG RANK - 11.6 - ACC AVG RANK - 15.8
Florida at 19, the lowest ranked SEC team, is ranked above 3 ACC teams.

Guess I was wrong......I said the only way it would stay close is if the 5th best team in the SEC were to face off against an ACC opponent......It happened and it STILL WASN'T CLOSE......
Maybe if they played Kentucky then..... :hmmm: :bravonew:
