Just wondering who had noticed that the music channels on Directv were replaced by XM music channels? My favorite so far is "The Boneyard" where they play all 80's metal!

Not sure what it was before but on the 15th everything went to XM radio.

I have three XM radios and Direct TV. Try Fred (44), Ethel (47) and Lucy (54). Also 152 Extreme has good talk show's. In my car I rarely move it off of ESPN (140) unless my kids want Disney (115). :)

                      Fuck DirecTV.

I spent months in litigation with them all because they said I order a "illegal" card reader. Fuckers, where do they get off? I was just using it for testing purposes on totally legal cards!

Ok, yeah, I had been stealing the signal for years, and helping other people do it as well. And I felt no remorse about it at all. :) But still, what the fuck; its electronic crime; that's not a real crime!

Fuckers; they can still suck my nut.

:thumbsdow So if someone cleans out your bank account over the internet it's not a crime? Seeing as how they didn't physically rob the bank or you, makes it ok? Geez...what is this world coming to?

Show me the "harm" in what I did. Ok, nevermind that, because I know I did them some harm. But for most people busted in that raid, show me the harm. What did they lose?

I bought the dish legally, and paid about 200 bucks for mine. I also bought a few cards, at a cost of 100+ each. After that, I never sent them a dime.

How were they harmed? I never would have bought the dish or the cards if I could not hack the signal. Therefore, I feel they were helped by my hacking, not harmed. They never would have seen the first penny from me had it not been hackable. I went on to buy many, many different receievers and cards, trying to work into the system more and more, and figure out all I could. I probably went through 1500 bucks in hardware working on this; most of which was DirecTV hardware (cards primarily). The way I see it, they made money from me; I do not feel they were harmed because of what I did.

Now, that's not the whole story. Once I realized how greedy and fucked up the DirecTV company was, I started to help other people do it; people with subscriptions. However, most of the time, because the hacked cards were not very reliable, they would maintain a legit subbed card and just swap when the card got hit by an ECM.

People (me included) spent more money on the hacked DirecTV then I ever would have spent on the service. I never really even watched it, I just never wanted to go to a channel and be told "Your not a subscriber" or "Press menu for payment options".

If DirecTV would get smart and realize that people HATE pay per view this problem would have disappeared a long time ago. People are willing to pay out the ass, but you have to give them everything! Give me a plan that costs 200 bucks a month (I never saw anyone, even with all the channels and a nasty PPV habit go above this) and gives me every fucking channel. I want all the sports, all the PPV movies, all the porn, everything! There, however, is no such plan, not for ANY price. Also, you can't buy all the feeds of the network channels (I could watch any big network channel with a 1,2, or 3 hour delay by moving to different time zone's satelite).

Sorry, I know people are going to disagree with the "harm" stuff, and I know I am a bit of a black hat, I love to hack and see what can be done. My mistake (and not legal mistake, I was never accused or convicted of distributing the hacked cards) from a moral perspective was helping other people do it.

Oh well, just like the phreaks of old, I got caught and I paid the price.

Well...first off they are harmed when you and all the others started stealing from them. Lets' say if you were helping 10 people get free satellite and each one of those 10 people were helping 10 people and those were helping another 10....you get my point? Before you know it there are 1,000 or more people stealing satellite and with DirecTV losing paying customers, they jack up their rates on the honest paying customer. Pretty much like insurance fraud. Granted they should have a plan where you pay one price and get everything but instead of stealing from them call them and let them know how you feel and what you want.

As for saying that DirecTV is greedy and fucked up....that's the pot calling the kettle black...don't ya think? You wanted it all and didn't want to pay for it. DirecTV is business just like any other company and they provide a service. If they gave it all away for free they would have went under years ago. I personally, love my satellite because after the bad storms I can still watch tv, where as cable customers are having to wait for their cables to be repaired to watch tv or get on-line. Next time go and steal cable and see what happens!

Forget about the fact that I helped other people do it for a moment.

I never would have purchased ANY DirecTV product had it not been hackable. I bought it to beat it, and once I beat it I kept beating it after each upgrade. I was curious to see how it worked; and DirecTV got a bunch of money from me that they never would have gotten if it was not "hackable". After the P4 cards, I moved to Dish for awhile to work on them, but never found it as exciting as DTV.

Anyway, my point is that they could NOT be harmed by my (personal ONLY) stealing; I would not have bought it if I could not hack it.
