  • PUGS

ive been thinking alot over the past few years about getting a pug. ive never owned a dog before so im skeptical about doing it. ive had other pets in the past and ive always treated them like gold so i think id be a good owner. im wondering if anyone here has had a pug and could give me some info on what kind of pets they make. my housemate has a cat so theyd have to get along, also i live in montreal where it gets very cold and snowy in the winter so it would also have to be able to live through that. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

All I know about pugs is they are hyper as all hell lol. I just bought a boxer a few months ago and she is my baby....I love my girl. I'm sure someone on here owns one. Goodluck with whatever you choose.

I have two pugs and they are great dogs. We have had both of them for approximately five years and they are without a doubt a part of the family. They are great with kids -- they love our 18 mos old son -- and live to make their owners happy. They are great companion dogs. The only downfall is they shed a lot -- have to keep them brushed. Pugs are what you would consider a big dog in a small dogs body. They are not that hyper and were extremely easy to train. Let me know what kind of questions you might have about them.

Tnoel- thanks alot for your reply... thats exactly what im hoping for in a pug. ive received alot of info via instant message from another board member so i think i have everything i need to know. the only thing im a little worried about is that apparently they have no 'master', as in they dont treat their owner any differently than a stranger. i guess its not a big deal but its nice to have that 'owner-pet relationship' haha.

I am with you LMG. I got my girl a pug about 7 months ago. They are the most loyal dogs. I use to think that they were ugly but once you get one all that changes. Like i said ours is around 8 months old and i will try to post some pics up sometime this week.

Everytime I see a pic of a pug I can't help but think of Men In Black II. That dog in a suit and singing in the car (especially with that voice he had) just cracks me up. It's gotta be one of the funniest scenes in the whole movie.

Nice looking doggies, Jordan and Triple X :agree:
