  • Lifting Shoes

What sort of shoes do you all lift in? I used to lift in Chuck Taylors, but they broke a while ago. I have been using regular tennis shoes since then, but it is not the same. I am thinking about picking up a pair of wrestling shoes.

for proper support obviously. I use high tops but they dont offer great support for leg days. I think Otomix is a company that makes nice lifting shoes.

I workout in Nike running shoes (the kind that are like being barefoot). The sole is cut to mimic the bottom of your foot and they are extremely light etc. On heavy quad days I may use wrestling shoes but I have really learned to like the "Free" running shoes.

Also, I read an article somewhere a while back that talked about the fact that the human foot is 100 times weaker nowadays compared to the past due to all the "supportive" inovations of newer shoes etc. These work great on calve days too...

Regular old Nike cross country style runners most days. Leg days it's an old ass pair of Asics Tiger's.

Yea, I would think that you'd want to have the proper support before you develope ankle problems..
I tried a few different brands but always seem to go unconvential.. My carolina work boots laced tight as hell. My bones are old..LOL

The best shoes to train in are Docksides, by far. They fit easily and look like yeah baby!

thats me. Nike makes a pit crew shoe for racing that I like for leg days.. I am on a couple of pit crews so it kills 2 birds with one stone. As far as everything else I like a running shoe or cross trainer. I buy expensive one though and some good insoles,it makes all the difference in the world. Shox suck IMO. I have 2 pairs, One I currently wear. Theey cost a hundred bucks and wear out in 2 months.
