i was lookin at the direct-way satelite high speed does anyone have it or know if its any good? one thing i hate is down loading that takes forever. this sayes it has a down load speed of 700kbps is that good? what do you guys use?

Why would you want satelite internet when your in San Jose Cali? Im sure you can get cable or DSL in San Jose. Satelite is about 3 times the price and not nearly as fast as cable or dsl. My cable internet runs around 2000kbps.

Just get sbc yahoo dsl. It's only like $19.99 a month. And it's plenty fast.

ya that i can understand. but i called comcast thoes fuckers want 61 dollars a month and say its 6 times(i think) faster than DSL what ever that means. i pay 30 bucks for my phone line and 20 something for MSN so for 10 bucks more i can get high speed.

I don't know about in Cali, but in Tampa, the cable companies are doing eals where if you get your cable, and internet together, you get a deal. I pay 40 bucks a month for cable, and I am almost positive it is faster than dsl.

If your gona do Cable (Comcast) you need to put a whole package together to make it worth it. you put your internet, Cable TV(HDTV) and your Digital phone all together and you internet comes down in price, I can call all over the US and Canada all I want for the same price every month

Ya, I have my phone, internet, and TV all with Time Warner. Its $200 a month but I also have 2 HD DVR boxes and all the channels.

Look into a new service called Verizon FIOS (don't know if this is offered in all areas). It is a fiberoptic DSL system that is much faster than Comcast cable. I recently switched to it and get close to 15MBps downloads and almost 2MBps uploads. It is also $10 cheaper per month than Comcast.

Damn, I feel like I'm geting ripped off. Everything is suppose to be cheaper here in the middle of no where. I pay 64.90 a month for cable (no movie channels) and cable internet. I rent the router but it's only 4.99 of that. From Cebridge. Unfortuantly I don't have other options.
