GHB for alcoholism

I read the other day that they have started supplying alcoholics with GHB to help them stop drinking. Is that not the dumbest thing they could have done? You already have someone that is easily adddicted to things, and you give them GHB. We have alot of smart Doc's out there. Has any of you heard about this? :dumbass:

thats been around for ages as a potential treatment, it stops the sides of withdrawal and makes the person ill if they drink alcohol

I would like to know what you were reading. I find it hard to believe that it would be done by anyone with intelegence. It can be deadly on it's own. Then to trust an alcoholic not to mix GHB with with something as dangerous and even more deadly than alcohol.

I thought it was antabuse that was given to Alcoholics who lacked the will power?????

I got sober some years ago myself and the ONLY thing that helped me was to walk in the door of an AA meeting and find a higher power - Millions like me all over the world and I am grateful each day.

It is in one of the Muscular Development Mags. Not sure which one. I had picked one up while waiting to get my hair cut the other day. I was shocked just to see that book in a Barber Shop. LOL
