Texas placed four players on the first team of The Associated Press' 2005 All-America football team announced Tuesday.
The selection of quarterback Vince Young, offensive tackle Jonathan Scott, defensive tackle Rod Wright and safety Michael Huff matched the 1983 squad for most first-team AP All-Americans in any season by a Texas team.
Young, a junior who won the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, became the first quarterback in school history to earn first-team All-America honors on the AP squad.
Overall, the Longhorns placed seven players on the AP team. Offensive guard Will Allen, offensive tackle Justin Blalock and linebacker Aaron Harris were third-teamers.
