  • how to give a present?

i was wondering how to give my girl a watch? i first was gonna get her a ring and put it inside a box of see's candy. but i then decided on a watch and im lookin for ideas like the ring. any help would be cool thanks.

haha, a ring to a watch. Sounds like major comitmant issues :P

Anyways I saw this on the food network and it seems pretty easy to do

Well I can't find the recipie but it seemed pretty easy. You make 3 thin circle shapes about the size of a coaster made out of white chocolate. You have one as a base, then you slice up a banana, place it in the shape of the chocolate with a custard in the middle to help hold it together and add taste, then place another white chocolate circle on top of that, do the same thing with the banana and custard, then the last piece of chocolate on top of that. Now for the speacial piece. You take a ladel (to the size you need) run melted sugar over the rounded side of that making a dome, looking like a spiderwebb or net. You place the gift on top of the last piece of chocolate, a few mint leaves on top of that to hide the shape to add mystery then place the sugar dome on top of it.

It's dosn't seem hard, I'm not saying make the chocolate from scratch. Just melt down some premaid stuff, roll it flat with a rolling pin and cut the circles. That's what they did on the show.

Hey Shibby, I'm thinking about some new drapes for the living room. What would you suggest? ;)

I've been having a "POST-IT" Xmas the past few years and my g/f gets a kick out of it ....Last year I started under the tree having her open a gift that had a purse in it....ON the inside I had a "post-it" That said you'll need some "dough" $ To fill this purse Leading her to the kitchen and the bread bin....In a loaf of bread I had MONEY in between each slice of bread and at the end of the loaf I had another 'post-it " Telling her after all that bread she needed to brush her teeth .lol In the bathroom I had a set of earings in a box tied to her toothbrush with another post-it ...I went like this finally leading her back under the tree...She loved it but cried all over the house ..lol
YOU COULD do this leading her back to your final gift "the watch" telling her its "TIME" to wrap it up ...Or make up something thats personal to both of you .......

I've always had success with a nice dinner. You can usually go to the resturaunt a few days ahead of time and work some special things out with the owner/managers.

                            1. I usually have flowers sent there earlier in the day (they keep them in one of their coolers) and they make sure to have them on the table when I arrive.

                            2. I will also bring candles etc if the resturaunt is not set up for this but if it is fairly nice they will be prepared.

                            3. Any gifts (i.e. watch/ring etc) are left with the owner/managers and they typically keep them in a vault where they keep petty cash etc. I know this may sound a little risky but I made up a small contract that anyone who will touch the jewelry has to sign before I turn it over to them. It basically just says that the owner/managers take responsibilty if it is lost or stolen - the cost of the gift - the dates etc - what is expected to be done with the gift (i.e. how it will be presented and where it is "supposed" to be stored until presentation).

                            4. You can also go ahead and have wine/champagne of her/your choice already picked out etc. I also like to leave a CC# so that you don't have to deal with the awkwardness of payment etc (in case she is like "Oh you spent too much, I can't believe this" etc).

There are probably a thousand different ways to take on this type of thing and they can be more extensive or less extensive than this depending on your taste. This may also seem to be too complicated etc but most of your "nicer" restaruants are used to this type of thing so they are normally on top of things. It shouldn't take anymore than an hour or two of your time - total - and you will get rewarded for much more than an hour or two :D!
