I splurged a little while shopping today

Some of you will think I'm crazy for spending $65 (Canadian) on an ornament, but I've loved this thing since the first time I laid eyes on it, and today I finally broke down and got it:

It is called City Sidewalks, and was made by Hallmark. There are vehicles (bus, taxi) that drive around the bottom, and people that walk around both at the bottom and at the top in front of the shops. The shops and Christmas tree all light up, and it plays tunes when you hit a button. I buy a really nice ornament or two every year, as it's my goal to eventually have a tree with nothing but super-nice ornaments on it.

Reminds me of my mom, she has a shit load of Christopher Radko ornaments that her tree is decorated with.

bro that aint crazy! you know whats crazy is the price some of these things are worth my mom has some hallmark trains that are worth 1000-2000 each and she has about 10 of them along with all kinds of other things. there is a collector book that tells you what ornimants are worth! that thing will probably be in the book soon.

I like the City Sidewalks ornament.

We have two trees here, each with a different theme. I'm "growing" a tree for my daughter to take with her when she moves out. It started with old ornaments from her great grandmother and each year we add some special things to it. This year we added glass swirled with colors inside icesickles along with her picking out over 100 candy canes (colorful ones, not just red and white). Her tree has white and colored lights with a big red foil bow on top.

My tree has fancy ornaments in gold, silver, cream, and pinks with white lights and an angel on top with swirly ribbon streamers hanging down.
