I gotta tell ya, me and sana have never been so damn stressed out in our lives. I had my mom and dad down for christmas. Dont get me wrong, I love my mom very much but I cant be in the same house with her for more then 2 hours. She drives me fucking nuts. She cant sit down for 5 minutes. We were watching a movie on my home Theater and the whole time she says, "turn it up I cant hear it". Keep in mind that I have some pretty high end speakers and the will pretty much blow you off the sofa. I swear, after they left, me and sana needed a long vacation. Good riddens holidays!

I am the opposite. I hate Christmas; its my least fav holiday. Your expected to give people gifts on that day so they are so much less appreciative (myself included) then if you gave it to them any other day of the year. I hate the marketing, the way the frezy hits people, and paying off the bills for the other 11 months of the year racked up fooling a tradiation I really feel was started by Macy's and The Gap. It has lost ALL its real meaning to me, its just something I have to budget for.
Now, New Year's, that's another story. Its a day where you are supposed to go out and have fun. I am not watching commercials all day long telling me to go get drunk and Bar X, Y, and Z. Its just a day you and your SO (if you have one) can go out and cut loose. That's my only saving grace for Christmas; I know New Year's is close! :)
Originally posted by go Yankeesholidays I can live with, they're fun...it's New Years that gets me -- why is it such a big deal to make plans for that night? just sit and watch the damn ball drop...then the next day the gym is crowded...I won't get started on that one

Same here, tree is STILL up and the lights are still on the house. I swear they are coming down today, and if Steph doesn't take the decor off the tree so I can take it out, the whole damn thing is going....lights and all!Originally posted by FitnessBrat11 months of anticipation....and its over in a matter of minutes. I love Christmas, but its hard work. Now if someone would take down my tree.....

god yes. We are both from divorced families & have been divorced ourselves. We start having christmas at one place or another right after Thanksgiving. Then my mom showed up the first week of December & my wife said she was to stay with us. Like Bouncer, I love her but can take my mom for about 2 hours at a time before I need to get away from her. Then my wife tells her we'd be glad to drive some of my late grandmother's stuff down to Florida to her over the holiday week. 2 day drive down because my wife won't let me drive it straight through, 2 days with my mom, and two days back. Yippie ky yi yah! My mom never shuts up, or sits for very long either. You can not even watch TV with her because her lips are flapping constantly. The best time I had was we went to a VFW to have A beer and meet some of their retired friends. 3 pitchers later we left. So I figuresd is out that I can last if I drink heavily around her :), I'm not a big drinker & those 3 pitchers was more beer than I have drank in the last 3 months put together, and I was seriously considering finding some good single malt scotch. So with the exception of having to be back to work hell yes I'm glad it's over.
