Some call me metro, but I call it good looking. I take fashion seriously because it certainly makes or breaks you on first impressions.

All clothing needs to fit you properly. If you are not an XXL, then do not buy it.

Jeans-Should be fitted properly also. Depending on your size, there are different things to look for.

Thin/athletic shape- Fitted jeans, possibly slim fit. Always a boot cut.

If you have a short waist and long legs, go with a low rise jean and if you have a long waste and short legs, go with a medium rise jean.

Fo someone who is over weight/large, you will want straight leg jeans with relaxed fit. This will slim down your waist and give the appearance of longer legs, making a thinner appearance over all.

Shoes-Men and women this is slightly different, but for the most part, the things I am listing are a constant in most cases. Tall people can get away more with a square toed shoe, but short people cannot. A squared toe shoe will make someone look shorter and stubbier, where as a pointier toe will elongate the legs, making a short person look taller.

    Hope this helps a little.

You sound so much like a good friend of mine it's ridiculous. What the hell do you do for a living?

And on a side note I know why this board is my home, someone comes here with a question and it gets answered.

I know a lot of other places where this topic would've gotten flamed over and over but here it's all about helping each other....so :bravonew: to everyone!

I am a paramedic. Fashion is just a hobby of mine. :D Like I said, I would never flame for a question like this. Many people have no idea how to dress and in the professional and adult world, it's important IMO.

Don't be shy with the salesperson, chances are you will never see him/her again.

Don't buy something you're not comfortable in, you won't be comfortable when you wear it and that will be reflected in your attitude and self-confidence when you go out.

Along with the new clothes, a really good haircut will help pull it all together.

If you're not too shy, post up a picture of yourself in one of your new outfits. :)

Good luck and try to have fun picking out new things for yourself!
Haha...thanks everyone...I went out and got a pair of pants and a shirt, that I like. Pic attached (man, I have some major red eye ;) )

Anyway, this is like navigating a new planet. Like I landed on earth from an alien ship and am trying to navigate my way around its culture. But I think I am getting it.

                      LOL @ the red eye!

I'm gonna make 2 suggestions...1-when you wear that shirt, don't wear an undershirt that shows, if you need something for warmth put a wife beater on instead, and 2-the shirt seems a little big for you, try going down one size.

BTW, my husband wears the same kind of shirt almost daily, really easy to take care of and they come in a lot of colors and patterns. Good choice!

It's popped up here a couple of times and he got bashed by some members for not wearing a belt....
