You're thinking of the wrong shamrock. Ken is the old one, frank is only like 33. It was quick though. Shammy knocked him cold in like 21 seconds of the first round. It was a record crowd though. Can't wait to see where frank goes from here. Would love to see him in the UFC again, but i'm sure he'll go to pride.

He got owned by sakuraba in pride a couple months later after that. It was somewhat controversial almost. He'll be back for a fight with tito ortiz after the next ultimate fighter show i'm sure. Bad blood always draws in a crowd. That's a money fight right there. I think ken is to old to continue. Tito will own him imo as well.

The UFC had the record for live attendance for an MMA event in North America at 14,400 people.....Strikeforce pulled over 18,000 ticket sales for Shamrock vs. Gracie. I was bummed to see Josh Thomson get mauled by Clayton Guida.....I was looking forward to that fight more then Frank/Cesar.

I would say pride. UFC is starting to get there. They have now realized the cost it takes a fighter to get ready. That was ortiz's main complaint. UFC is starting to pay their champs good money now.

I've only got into it recently, what happened with Ortiz? from the recent commentary they say he was wild to begin with and then went off it before coming back lately?

I wish I could see pride over here in the uk, I can get UFC and some K1 replays, thats it

Ortiz was the ufc's golden boy. He was winning and almost a household name. He was being marketed pretty well, but he was complaining that he wasn't being paid enough per fight to offset the cost of training and prep. Dana told him too fucking bad, if you don't like it, then we'll just get rid of you and that's pretty much what happened. Only now, dana is starting to see that good fighters need more money. They have the liquid to pay them, so they should instead of being greedy. Probably one of the reasons he's decided to bring back all the bad blood and pay them decently. Not to mention ufc's lhw division is lacking in talent right now.
